The Wholesale Regulatory Adviser will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing regulatory compliance within the wholesale energy markets. This position requires a detailed understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to navigate complex compliance requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and interpret regulatory developments affecting wholesale energy markets.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements and implications.
  • Develop and implement compliance strategies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential regulatory issues.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and industry associations.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports.
  • Ensure timely compliance with all regulatory obligations.
  • Provide training and support on regulatory matters to internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key regulatory contacts.
  • Review and update compliance documentation and policies.
  • Assist in audits and inspections by regulatory authorities.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate with legal and policy teams on regulatory initiatives.
  • Analyse market data to assess regulatory impact.
  • Report on compliance activities to senior management.
Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in regulatory compliance within the energy sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of wholesale energy markets and relevant regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
