This exciting role will see you reporting to and working closely with the CEO, the WHS and Risk Management Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, leading, developing and implementing strategies across the following five key areas:
WHS MANAGEMENT | CORPORATE RISK | RETURN-TO-WORK | EMERGENCY PLANNING | / INSURANCE
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of a best practice Risk Management and WHS workplace culture across whole of council.
- Ensure effective development, implementation and ongoing management of relevant policies, practices and procedures.
- Educate and empower Managers and Staff by providing advice, coaching and support in the assessment and management of Risk and WHS.
- Develop, implement and manage effective strategies to continually review and improve WHS and Risk Management performance.
- Effectively minimise the incidences, cost and harm caused through workplace injury including managing the Return-to-Work process.
- Proactively manage injury claims and consult with injured workers, people managers, health professionals and our insurer regarding Return-To-Work claims.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Hold a qualification in WHS / Risk Management and/or have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- Have a comprehensive knowledge of WHS and Risk Management gained through proven work experience.
- Have the ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout Council operations.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, across all levels of business.
- Have excellent time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Be capable of working autonomously with a continuous improvement focus.
