WHS Coordinator

Role Overview:

As a WHS Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture within the organization. You will work closely with management, employees, and external stakeholders to implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures, and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and review WHS policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement control measures.
• Coordinate WHS training programs and ensure all employees receive adequate training on safety protocols and procedures.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventative actions to mitigate future risks.
• Maintain WHS documentation and records, including incident reports, training records, and safety audits.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to promote WHS awareness and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated with WHS legislation and industry trends, providing recommendations for improvement as needed.

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar WHS role within the food manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and implement effective control measures.
• Certification or qualifications in WHS or related field (e.g., Cert IV in WHS) will be advantageous.
• A proactive and results-driven approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and achieving safety objectives.
