We are currently seeking an experienced WHS Coordinator to work across infrastructure projects in the Newcastle and Hunter regions. This permanent position will be based out of our Head Office in Beresfield but see you spend the majority of your time out on site supporting a number of our civil infrastructure projects.
About the role:
This challenging and dynamic role will see you being instrumental in supporting effective implementation of WHS strategies whilst providing specialist WHS advice and influencing positive behaviours throughout our Operations. This is an active role that requires the candidate to develop their experience across various industries and civil disciplines including exposure to bulk earthworks, bridge construction, rail safety work, mining services and quarrying, subdivision development and/or major road construction work.
In return for this role, we can offer a position that will give you the necessary support and autonomy to assist with the driving of an excellent WHS culture across our Group Operations.
To be considered you will have:
Mandatory:
- Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety;
- Experience with incident investigation (ideally ICAM or Taproot);
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with managers, executive and staff to achieve business outcomes;
- Current Driver’s License;
- Construction Induction Training (White Card or equivalent);
- Subcontractor management experience;
- Experience in maintaining systems in accordance with ISO 45001
- Experienced in conflict resolution;
- Competent computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- Ability to problem solve and assist with making practical decisions in a high stress environment;
- Ability to consult and influence throughout all levels of the organisation;
- Ability to interpret legislation and related standards;
- Willingness to work occasional weekends, night shift and be on call, and
- Experience influencing Safe Behaviours throughout all levels of the organisation
Preferable:
- Extensive in-field experience working in similar Civil construction and/or TfNSW works
- Qualifications / Experience in Risk Management Processes or similar;
- Certificate IV Training and Assessing.
