About The Role
The WHS Coordinator is responsible for the development and engagement of a consistent and positive WHS culture across SDN and responsible for compliance by SDN and coordinating training programs.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure hazards and unsafe workplace conditions/practices have been identified, reported and are actioned. Monitor corrective actions to ensure risks are eliminated, isolated or minimised
- In consultation with the Head of People and Organisational Development, develop, coordinate and implement WHS policies, procedures and guidelines
- Provide support and advice to managers and staff with regards to all WHS matters
- Coordinate and assist with WHS training and other training programs and induction to ensure WHS Compliance and to improve WHS performance
- Assist with project initiatives, engagement and awareness with all staff across SDN
- Work collaboratively with WHS & Injury Management Advisor and other colleagues and stakeholders, across the organisation, to achieve organisational objectives
- Actively participate in and attend Team Around meetings
- Conduct site safety inspections and audits along with WHS & Injury Management Advisor
- Coordinate and support the health and wellbeing of our staff
- Support and assist at all Leaders Day and Year End functions
- Ensure training register is completed by all staff
- Perform any other duties as requested by your manager consistent with the position.
About You
- Certificate or Diploma in WHS/or experience working in the health and safety field
- Experience working with staff to identify WHS matters and risk assessments
- Ability to do workplace inspections and audits
- Ability to clearly communicate information and advice to staff and management at all levels
- Ability to develop positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Current drivers licence and own comprehensively insured car
- A Working with Children's Check clearance number
