Role Overview: As the WHS and Injury Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting the continuous improvement of WHS practices within our New South Wales stores. Reporting to WHS Manager - North you will collaborate closely with store management to identify and mitigate hazards, drive WHS initiatives, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements. This role requires a proactive and customer-focused approach to promoting a safe and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the identification and implementation of WHS initiatives in collaboration with NSW store management.
- Conduct and facilitate WHS inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Support store management in identifying solutions to eliminate and mitigate hazard risks.
- Communicate and support instore WHS initiatives with guidance from senior WHS team members.
- Provide regular onsite support to NSW store management, offering guidance on WHS matters.
- Assist in driving WHS continuous improvement by fostering strong partnerships with store management.
- Support the effective completion of Safety Committee Meetings in NSW stores.
- Assist the senior WHS team with internal audit planning and execution.
- Partner with store management to investigate WHS matters and incidents, providing guidance on risk reduction measures.
- Participate in issue resolution and mediation processes to address WHS concerns.
- Assist in the delivery of WHS training programs to store staff.
- Encourage prompt reporting of incidents, hazards, and risks.
- Support the creation of Return To Work (RTW) Plans with the WHS Injury Management Team.
Requirements:
- Ability to work autonomously in-store.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Professional, motivated, and trustworthy.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Internal Audit experience (desirable).
- Injury management experience (desirable).
- Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety.
- Certificate IV Training & Assessment (desirable).
- Understanding of Australian NSW Work Health and Safety Legislation.
- Current driver’s license.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
