As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced WHS Leader to join our team.
About your new role
This is a Four month full-time fixed term position with the potential to extend or become permanent. As the Work Health and Safety Leader, Are you passionate about ensuring the safety and well-being of workers in high-risk construction or maintenance environments? Do you possess strong leadership skills, want to learn, influence and a have deep understanding of workplace health and safety regulations? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We're looking for people who can:
- Lead and manage a team of WHS professionals to ensure we learn with the business and address all compliance and regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and initiatives specifically tailored to high-risk construction and maintenance environments.
- Regularly facilitate risk assessments and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees on safety procedures and best practices.
- Investigate incidents, analyse systemic root causes, and drive the understanding of error normalisation to help develop help strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders including regulatory agencies and industry groups to stay abreast of emerging trends and regulatory changes.
Role Requirements:
- Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent knowledge.
- Significant experience in a similar role within high-risk environments, civil construction and maintenance industry is desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in managing teams and driving results.
- In-depth knowledge of WHS regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management.
