About the role
As part of a dedicated team you will be responsible for the efficient and effective maintenance of the Council’s trees and vegetation located in road reserves/nature strips, laneways, parkland and bushland. Your main goal will be to ensure that the City of Willoughby is visually and environmentally
improved and safe. You help create a liveable community.
Your natural ability to communicate politely with the community and provide helpful assistance when approached by the public is highly valued. You will effectively work to help improve operational efficiency in the streetscapes, as well as improving residential precincts open space facilities. As a proactive team member, you will also maintain good communication with your fellow workers and supervisor.
Requirements
• White Card
• Class C drivers license
• Demonstrated experience in tree pruning and small/medium tree removals.
• Demonstrated experience in all areas of garden maintenance including (but not limited to)
mowing, brush cutting, edging, planting and weed/pest control.
• Good working knowledge of the safe operation and maintenance of small plant (e.g. chainsaws, mowers etc.)
• Good understanding of traffic control in urban areas
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to use chainsaw, brush cutter, blower, mower, hose, rake, shovel or similar garden equipment and small plant.
