The Role

We have an amazing opportunity for a Wish Planner Team Lead to join the Wish team.  This is a hands-on role that manages the design and delivery stage of the wish journey for wishes allocated to Wish Planners and for themselves.  As the leader of the team, the role is responsible for coaching, managing, training and supporting all Wish Planners.  As a team, Wish Planners design and deliver high-quality wishes within allocated time frames and budget.  You will ensure the process of Wish Planning is done to the highest quality standards, with superior communication and relationship management skills with all stakeholders. 

Working in the Wish team, you will play a critical role in bringing each wish to life.  Your team are responsible for creating magical wish journeys which include taking the brief from the Wish Catcher Team and tailoring a wish journey that is unique to every child.

This role requires strong leadership, creativity to ensure that each wish is unique, you have a technical mindset as well as having superior organisation, budget and relationship management skills with proven creative problem solving skills with a solutions focus.

You will conduct research and contact suppliers to explore wish granting opportunities that supports the entire wish program,  as well as being the escalation point when working with wish families, and you will manage multiple crucial relationships every day.

This role is full-time on an initial 12-month maximum term contract.
 

More of what you will be doing

  • Leading a team - training, induction, mentoring and trouble shooting
  • Attend and participate as a member of the Wish Council, representing the Wish Planner team
  • Manage the day-to-day workflow of the Wish Planner team by allocating resources within the team, ensuring deadlines are met and Wish Team values are upheld.
  • Key escalation point for team queries
  • KPI management
  • Implement wellbeing initiatives across the team
  • Work closely with other Wish Leaders to align priorities within the Wish Team and foster a culture of teamwork internally
  • Create and approve unique wish designs for each child using the brief provided to you
  • Ensure all special needs of the child and family members are covered accurately
  • Risk management and compliance managed across the Wish design and delivery phase
  • Work collaboratively with the Volunteer team, Corporate Partners, Suppliers’ and other staff to book high quality, individual and creative wishes
  • Champion use of CRM (Salesforce) to manage our wish program
  • Manage celebrity relationships as required
  • Negotiate free/discounted goods and services to drive down the cost of wishes whilst ensuring a high quality experience
  • Lead Special Projects with a focus on wish quality and team efficiencies as required.
  • Ensure all families have a seamless and quality experience, providing exceptional customer service and empathy

About You

  • Managed a team with a minimum of least 5 years’ experience
  • Proven skill in creative problem solving with a solutions focused approach when faced with challenging issues
  • Creative approach whilst being process and task driven
  • Proven and exceptional experience in project management and managing schedules
  • Effective stakeholder management
  • Exceptional organisational with the ability to manage multiple and conflicting tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and across teams, as well as the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated record of having a strong work ethic; self-driven, proactive and takes initiative.
  • Implement strategies and champion business objectives
  • Experience in creative product development, event planning or the travel industry is advantageous
  • Ability to guide your team to work within a tight budget
  • Task orientated with strong project management skills
  • Technical skills that will enhance process and operations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and across teams, as well as the ability to work independently
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Self-management and initiative
  • Experience using Salesforce is desirable
  • Mature, reliable and trustworthy
