About the opportunity
We are seeking the services of a General Practitioner Visiting Medical Officer / Honorary Medical Officer for Molong Multi-Purpose Service. The GP VMO/GP HMO will provide contemporary comprehensive service for optimal patient outcomes to achieve safe clinical practice. You can elect to be employed as a Visiting Medical Officer or an Honorary Medical Officer.

Molong Multipurpose Service (MPS) has 10 Acute Inpatient Beds, Emergency Department, Ambulatory Care, X-Ray 2 days a week, 20 Residential Aged Care Beds. Outpatient Services - Molong HealthOne has Community Nursing, Pathology, Physiotherapy, Fitness Leader, Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, and Speech Pathologist. HealthOne also looks after Cudal, Manildra, Yeoval and Cumnock.
Molong is a rural service centre located in the scenic countryside between Orange and Wellington. It is surrounded by rich agricultural land known for its production of fine wool, wheat, orchards, vineyards, beef cattle and fat lambs. It is a town with an impressive collection of historic buildings along the main street - Bank Street - and a well preserved Cobb & Co changing post. Molong is located 289 km north-west of Sydney via the Mitchell Highway. It is 529 m above sea-level. It is believed that Molong is a Wiradjuri word meaning 'place of many rocks'.
Molong has a Supermarket (SPAR), BP Service station, several café’s/restaurants, 2 Hotels, RSL Club, Bowling Club, library, hairdressers, boutiques and sporting ovals. Two schools - Molong Central School is for both Primary and Senior Schooling, St Joseph’s is a private primary school.

1. Unconditional General and/or Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
2. Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and/or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and/or Vocational Recognition as a General Practitioner.
3. Minimum three (3) years post graduate clinical experience. Previous experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics or Rural Medicine an advantage.
4. Sound knowledge of and commitment to clinical quality and patient safety, work health and safety, working within NSW Health Policy and current clinical practice guidelines.
5. Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Competence in performing the range of procedures commonly undertaken in a rural emergency department.
6. An understanding of patient centred care and demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team including demonstration of NSW Health CORE values in delivering safe and high quality care.
