Women's and Children's Manager

Permanent Full Time - 80 hours per fortnight

Classification: Midwife Unit Manager RN 39

Award: Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024

This is an exciting new role, leading dynamic teams who deliver exemplary care to our community.  In this role, the Women's and Children's Manager (WCM), who reports directly to the Director of Acute Services, is a valued member of the leadership team at Maryborough District Health Service (MDHS), committed to upholding MDHS values and meeting organisational goals. The WCM is instrumental in leading the effective and safe delivery of the MDHS Maternity Model of Care ensuring the effective allocation of resources for all maternity services. The role will provide leadership to the MGP team and non- midwifery clinical teams, ensuring ongoing development of midwifery practice guidelines and protocols in concert with collaborative patient management. The role is also responsible for leading MDHS programs designed to meet the healthcare needs of women and children in our community.  Apply now!

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

Qualifications

  • Registration as a midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Technical/Professional Knowledge and skills

  • Minimum of three years' experience in midwifery nursing inclusive of delivery of all aspects of peri natal care.
  • Three years leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in departmental financial budgeting and the ability to utilize information technology to enhance practice
  • Working knowledge of national standards, regulations and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence and patient experience.

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualification or working towards same
