Form of workStella and Estelle are successful, contemporary Australian women's fashion brands. We are looking for a Designer with the experience and professional confidence to contribute ideas to our range, and follow through to production.
Candidate Requirements:
- Excellent Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign capabilities
- Must have a sound knowledge of garment construction and proven ability to complete accurate garment sketches and design sheets
- Experience with garment fittings and communicating with QA team
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- 5 years full time experience in a commercial fashion design company
- Ability to produce print repeats artworks for offshore manufacturing
- Experience choosing colours and sourcing fabrics
- Proven organisational and planning ability, experience working within a team to a critical path
- Excellent communication skills both interally and with off shore suppliers
- Proactive attitude, creative confidence and attention to detail
- Must be up to date with trends and love fashion!
Responsibilities will include:
- Contribute to the trend forecast providing research and analysis on trending colours, silhouettes, fabrics and trims that are relevant to our brands
- Develop garments and updates to best sellers according to the trend forecast and option plan
- Sketch garments using Illustrator, create design sheets and brief patternmaking team
- Create import enquiry packs for costings
- Develop placement prints for off shore manufacturing
- Select colours and fabrics, requesting lab dips, swatches and sampling from suppliers
- Attend fit sessions, ensuring styling is followed through to production
- With marketing team contribute to brand direction and attend photoshoots
- Review sales reports on a weekly basis to develop opportunities for repeat orders and updating best selling styles
- Create story/range boards for customer presentations and prepare ranges and product for appointments
