We are a small family-operated timber workshop that takes pride in crafting high-end prefinished timber lining boards for architectural projects nationally. Qualifications & experience
- Trade qualified timber machinist (preferable) or cabinet maker however non-qualified candidates with a passion for woodworking and considerable experience are invited to apply.
- Critical hard skills include; strong mechanical aptitude and proven troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Key personal characteristics include; personable, dependable, respectful and functional in highly collaborative team environments.
Tasks & responsibilities
Given our compact scale, the scope of responsibilities is diverse and flexible. Day-to-day responsibilities extend from optimising and ensuring uptime of coating machines, through to hands-on involvement in general production and dispatch activities. Key tasks include:
- End to end accountability for timber mouldings (VJ and Shiplap Panelling, Slatted Tongue and Groove boards - refer website).
- Setup and operate moulding machine to a consistently high degree of accuracy.
- Implement and manage best practice for cutters.
- Assist with sourcing, split/drying and other upstream activities.
- Collaborate with downstream coating teams to ensure quality outputs.
- Support production supervisor as required with day-to-day operations (e.g. feeding timber machines and packing orders). Must be willing perform other duties as required during troughs.
- Develop and adhere to routine preventative maintenance of machines.
- Dust extraction etc.
