Western Plains Correctional Centre is a 1,248 bed facility that acts as an essential part of the government's commitment to improving community safety.
The facility was handed over to Corrections Victoria in the fourth quarter of 2022 to manage the security, operation and maintenance of the state-of-the-art facility, deliver training, and continue operational planning and preparation.
About the Role:
As a staff member working from the initial stage of operations, the Workforce Engagement Support Officer will be a contributor to the foundations of this innovative new correctional facility.
Some of your duties will include:
- On a 24-hour roster, receiving and handling inbound telephone calls from the Western Plains staffing team calling to advise of inability to attend scheduled shifts and making general HR related enquiries
- Proactive Workforce Engagement including providing support and appropriate referrals where required
- In conjunction with the workforce development team and operational staff, ensuring that vacant shifts are filled in a timely manner and in such a way as to ensure minimum disruption to facility operations.
About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience in providing corporate support services in government or large private sector organisations would be desirable.
- Experience working with the full range of Microsoft Windows and MS Office application suite software would be highly desirable.
- The ability to resolve problems through policy or process guidelines while understanding concepts enabling improvements in critical thinking and problem solving
- A tertiary qualification is desirable but not required.
