This is an ongoing, permanent position at the APS 4 classification level. The successful applicant will work full-time hours via a hybrid model of working at our office in Belconnen and working from home.
About the role and business area
The role of Workforce/Project Support Officer assists in the sourcing and administration of staff and contractors to meet the demands of the ABS’ ICT Work Program.
The IT Work Program Management Section supports the ABS Technology and Security Division (TSD) to effectively and efficiently deliver ABS business objectives through proactive management of TSD costs, capability and capacity.
The team works collaboratively across the division to develop and implement workforce strategies, build professional ICT capabilities and source ICT skills from the market that are required to deliver Work Programs.
Responsibilities include:
- administration and management of documentation for onboarding contractors and non-ongoing personnel, including proactively managing contract extensions
- coordination of recruitment in conjunction with ABS National Recruitment Unit
- coordinate client information and requests to recruitment companies
- provide information and advice to recruiting panel members
- prepare contracts and the associated spending proposals
- seek approvals from Delegates as appropriate.
To be suitable you should have most or all of the following skills, qualities and experience:
- demonstrated experience with creating and maintaining accurate and concise documentation
- ability to follow standard operating procedures whilst displaying strong lateral thinking and problem solving skills
- well developed interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration within the team
- strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on engagement with internal clients and external suppliers
- self-motivation and resilience
- experience in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
- experience working in an ICT recruitment field would be an advantage.
