We are excited to announce that the Rockhampton Rollingstock Workshop is reopening and Queensland Rail is seeking a motivated Working Shift leader to ensure the smooth and efficient setup and operation of our workshop.

Annual Salary Starting $122,900 (Negotiable based on experience and qualification)

About the Role:
As the Workshop’s Working Shift Leader, you will play a pivotal role in the establishment of reopening the rollingstock maintenance workshop in Rockhampton. You will be responsible for coordinating the setup process, from organising equipment and tools to ensuring a safe and efficient workspace. Once operational you will transition your focus to coordinating maintenance staff, assets and other resources as well as providing office and shop floor co-ordination and technical expertise.
Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include:
Develop and implement procedures for efficient workflow and resource management.
Collaborate with management to develop strategies for maximizing productivity and profitability.
Provide leadership, supervision and technical coaching to all trades and support staff.
Lead the safety of the work place, tasks and team members.
communicate and build effective relationships with management, staff, unions, suppliers, contractors (or sub-contractors), customers and other stakeholders
Ensure on time completion of planned and unplanned maintenance activities, providing technical expertise and leadership to achieve the required delivery of safe, available and reliable Electric Tilt Trains.
Contribute to the achievement of maintenance plans to meet priorities and targets and assist Maintenance Manager as and when required.
Manage the Rockhampton rollingstock project programs ensuring each package of works is delivered to a high quality standard and within timeframes and budgets.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:
Motivated individual who shows initiative in identifying areas for improvement and implementing proactive solutions.
High level of skill in the maintenance of rollingstock or similar industry
High level of skill in prioritising, co-ordinating and managing labour and assets
Must hold either a Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate
