The Role
The role will be responsible for providing timely and accurate technical Workplace Health and Safety advice and consultancy services to a broad range of clients, particularly in Government, manufacturing, building and construction industries. This is an excellent role for a WHS professional who is motivated by a portfolio covering project management, consultancy services, WHS system and process design as well as business development.
This role will require intra and interstate travel to perform the following key functions:
- Delivery of WHS consultancy services including audits, assessments, reviews, system and process development, training, and workshop facilitation.
- Project management involving the cultivation of leads, proposal development, report generation, client management and project closeout.
- Provide accurate and timely advice and assistance to internal and external clients on a range of WHS matters.
- Provide strong facilitation, communication, negotiation and problem solving skills in order to achieve effective and agreed client outcomes.
- Maintain and continue to develop knowledge and skills in technical WHS, risk management, legislative and contemporary industry practices.
- Actively seek business opportunities and build relationships with prospective clients independently to understand their business and determine their WHS needs.
- Working as part of a strong WHS team to facilitate collaborative project execution.
About You
The successful candidate will have a clear commitment to providing effective WHS expertise and solutions while maintaining a strong client focus. They will have a desire to work in a dynamic team environment, delivering quality outcomes.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS with relevant industry experience and a proven track record of delivering high level WHS consultancy services.
- A strong working knowledge of contemporary WHS practices and legislative requirements across a broad range of jurisdictions and industries, particularly in the building and construction industry.
- Experience building custom WHS systems to ISO45001.
- Strong oral and written communication along with sound report writing skills.
- Proven ability to take ownership of projects and tasks with demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to effectively interact with others and build relationships with colleagues, clients and key stakeholders.
- WHS audit qualifications and experience leading audits highly desirable.
