Scope of Position
As the Workshop Leading Hand, your primary focus is to assist the Workshop Manager in supervising fabrication trades to ensure assigned work conforms to quality, time and productivity.
Pay Rate:
$40 to $45 per hour (based on experience)

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned duties in a timely and safe manner
- Co-ordinate and allocate work to workshop workers in accordance with directions
- Request equipment, materials and consumables as required with limits and authority
- Provide leadership and direction to assigned workers
- Refer disciplinary action to the Workshop Manager
- Ensure that works is performed as per ITP’s and current schedule of works
- Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and the documentation is completed on time
- Daily cards are competed accurate and on time
- Assist Workshop Manager in HR labour employment/recruitment
- Ensure housekeeping is ongoing by maintaining a clean and safe workplace
- Enforce safety rules through ongoing communication and Toolbox meetings
- Open/Close Workshop
- Ensure workshop security – machine lock up- gates, cupboards, office
- Ensure equipment and tools are secure and used correctly
- Assist in Production Meetings
- Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery equipment and mobile equipment
- Practice continual improvement in the manufacturing process by setting standards, monitoring, and use of feedback
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
- Investigate non-conformances
- Knowledge of overhead cranes
- Maintain and use equipment as designed
- Adherence to Company procedures

Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in workshop
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Forklift Licence
Key Competencies:

- Sound knowledge of QA processes
Contingency Back Up Personnel:
- Welder/Boilermaker
