About the Role
SCIG has an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Supervisor to lead and develop the maintenance team at our Paget workshop. This role will see you lead your team to provide an excellent quality of service and workmanship to maintain, repair and service our ancillary, tractor and heavy vehicle fleet.
Your strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and positive attitude will contribute to our continued success.
The position will include (but not limited to) the following:
- Manage the allocation of work within the team to ensure schedule is met or prioritised as directed
- Train and monitor all team members to ensure skills are continuously upgraded in accordance with requirements
- Collaborate with team to investigate and resolve quality issues
- Take a pro-active approach to improve workshop output quality
- Implementing continuous improvement processes to increase productivity
- Coordinate the activities of workshop maintenance personnel to align with priorities
- Hold pre-start meetings each day before the shift
- Supervise workshop personnel with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Schedule, plan and coordinate major equipment refurbishments
- Hold workshop personnel accountable for safety, quality and alignment to plan
- Coordinating employees for the completion of rebuilds
- Providing support, leadership and mentoring to apprentices and trades personnel
- Monitoring and reporting on job costs and hours
- Developing work scopes and service reports for clients and internal departments
- Delivering to deadlines and ensuring maintenance activities are performed in accordance with company guidelines, processes and within budget
The candidate must possess the following:
- Mechanical or Auto Electrical Trade Certificate
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams
- Ability to interpret spare parts catalogues and workshop manuals including Electrical Schematics
- Self-motivated and dedicated to detailed work
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to diagnose problems and find a solution
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Must be able to work unsupervised or as part of a team
