Job description
Lead and grow a workshop team working on aluminium fabrication as part of a new contract. Your new company Our client operates within the defence, mining and energy sectors in North Queensland. They are a manufacturing company focussing on fabrication and welding of steel and aluminium products. Their goal is to continue increasing their mechanical engineering capability and computer-aided design systems to continue to meet the growing need in the market. Your new role This position will see the successful candidate come from a fabrication/welding background with extensive experience with aluminium. This role will see you operating in the workshop on a Monday to Friday roster, working 38 hours per week and overseeing a team of 5 staff with the vision of growing this team. Additional duties include:
Oversee and lead the workshop team responsible for fabrication and welding
Manage day-to-day operations ensuring efficient production and adherence to quality standards.
Meeting KPIs
Train and develop team members in a hands-on environment
Coordinate with other departments to meet project requirements and deadlines
Provide technical expertise in aluminium fabrication techniques.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have experience in aluminium fabrication and welding with strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and mentor the team. You will have relevant certifications and/or trade qualifications and knowledge of safety regulations and best practices. The salary on offer is between $90,000 - $95,000 + Superannuation and a fuel allowance. You will have the opportunity to develop the current team and expand as the need grows.
