Role
The Yard Operations Supervisor role is to ensure the efficient transition of walnuts from post-harvest handling and into storage and thereafter from storage into the processing plant, and to maintain optimal product quality through these phases of the value chain.
Duties include but not limited to
- Active management of all elements of the storage and transfer system at the Leeton processing facility, including:
- Coordination of hulling and drying lines and Yard Operations
- Coordination of out-loading of the Leeton drying shed
- Coordination of the delivery of inshell from other sites
- Broader supply chain engagement and support
- Oversight of the fumigation processes conducted external to the processing shed
- Management and leadership of a critical process and an experienced team
- Maintenance and improvement of storage and handling facilities
- Safety - Ensure compliance of all equipment with relevant safety standards, for the leadership and oversight of safe work practices
Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience
- Experience in operations and management of staff
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a similar role in the horticultural industry
- Valid driver’s licence
