Our second year Graduate Program is part of a broader inter-professional learning program (incorporating nursing), which allows graduates time to consolidate their skills in a supportive environment. We believe in providing support and quality feedback to help graduates develop their skills, confidence and work towards individual learning goals.
- Part time - Fixed term (0.8 EFT - 64 hours per fortnight, contract until 2nd Feb 2025)
- Final year Allied Health Graduate Program with Mercy Mental Health
- Positions are based at Saltwater Clinic in Footscray (either Community Plus or Recovery Team)
- Central to public transport and amenities
- The structured program incorporates a comprehensive orientation, paid professional development days, discipline specific clinical supervision and reflective practice sessions Discipline-specific clinical supervision embedded within the program
- Provide quality client-focused care to clients, their family and carers using a holistic, recovery oriented, strength based and culturally sensitive approach.
- Be part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team, and provide highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers
ABOUT YOU:
- You have a keen interest in supporting clients with mental health issues
- You are enthusiastic, highly motivated to learn and passionate about pursuing your career goals
- You have good communication skills and work well as part of a team
- Approved degree in Occupational Therapy and current/pending registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- Current Victorian Driver’s License
- Less than 2 years experience in a mental health field is desirable but not mandatory

Mercy Mental Health (South West Area Mental Health Service) is a public mental health service supporting people in south west metropolitan Melbourne with severe and complex mental illnesses by providing acute and community-based care. Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also deliver inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
