The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is the state's peak body for lawyers. Representing more than 18,000 members the LIV's purpose is to foster the rule of law and to promote improvements and developments in the law as it affects the public of Victoria. The LIV is a non-profit organisation dedicated to its members and the development, maintenance and the sustenance of the law for the benefit of the community.About the role:
The Young Lawyers Administrator is responsible for supporting the management and engagement of the Young Lawyers cohort of the LIV’s membership and supporting employer and Law Association engagement activities.
Reporting to the Manager – LIV Young Lawyers the role will work closely with key stakeholders including the LIV Young Lawyers Executive Committee, the Regional & Suburban Law Associations and Employers and LIV colleagues. The role will also be responsible for supporting the implementation of the annual LIV membership acquisition and retention strategy, employer and Law Association engagement activities and supporting the delivery of the LIV Mentoring and Member Outreach Programs.
This role must be able to communicate clearly, listen, build alliances and achieve desired results using strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills. The incumbent will take a proactive approach to collaborating with all LIV business units to forge strong relationships internally and with key external stakeholders relevant to delivering services for its membership segments.
Key responsibilities will include:
Coordinate the activities of the Young Lawyer Committees in accordance with the LIV Model By-Laws and LIV Young Lawyers Terms of Reference, under the direction of the Manager – LIV Young Lawyers
Assist the Manager – LIV Young Lawyers manage relationships between YL Committee’s and LIV Policy team as required in relation to collaboration on opportunities including law reform submissions and legal policy drafting
Support LIV Relationship Managers to deliver an effective employer and account management program, building relationships with key employer stakeholders across key member & employer segments in Victoria.

Ability to work effectively individually or as a team member to accomplish organisational goals
Desirable:
Knowledge of the legal industry
