The purpose of the Youth Drug and Alcohol Allied Health Professional is to provide comprehensive assessment and holistic support throughout a patient's episode of care. The Youth Drug and Alcohol Allied Health Professional is a niche role requiring a high level of skill and expertise with respect to Youth with Drug and Alcohol issues and their families.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Allied Health Counselling or Psychology. Senior Psychologists must have a three year degree in psychology with a fourth year honours in psychology and current AHPRA registration. For Social Work, experience as a Level 2 clinician and eligibility for membership of AASW. Occupational Therapist must have current AHPRA registration and experience as a Level 2 clinician. Counsellors must have experience as a Level 2 clinician.
- Demonstrated current clinical knowledge and experience to effectively manage clinical issues in the assessment and treatment of young people with drug & alcohol problems.
- Demonstrated experience and advanced clinical expertise and knowledge in youth comprehensive psychosocial assessments, counselling and therapeutic interventions, complex clinical casework, advocacy and discharge planning.
