Wujal Wujal Justice Group support and formed a community Youth Group. Wujal Wujal Youth Group is very important to the community people. Here the youth hub a newly created youth hub, has much potential to give youth the chance to be great leaders of the future and much more. Building youth with resilience and supports as required. Wujal Wujal, a small community is situated between Cooktown and Port Douglas, on the Bloomfield River.
Qualifications & experience
- Qualifications may include any of Youth services coordinator, youth program manager, diploma of youth work also Counselling will be highly regarded. Strong leadership skills.
- Practice good partnerships and relationships with clients, Justice Group Board and staff. Collaboration with other youth support agencies & services including youth justice. Follow policies and procedures, on going staff development & training to meet client needs.
- Experienced working with youth and youth leadership activities for better physical, emotional and social well being.
- Engage with indigenous youth, mentor and support. Care coordination.
- Able to manage a small team of support workers. Plan ahead, prioritize tasks.
Tasks & responsibilities
- YOUTH GROUP COORDINATOR
- Youth group sessions and supports, training and assistance. Youth Leadership skills and mentoring for youth.
- Youth excursions and collaboration with other Youth Groups. Community youth hub management. Includes organizing and facilitating on country activities and camps. Provide range of workshops for youth.
- Work with support workers and other services to help youth with issues.
- Responsible for performance reporting, outcomes and objectives and work to budget.
- Ability to work remote within a indigenous community with respect to local culture.
