Youth Service Manager - Full Time

Indigo Junction is a values driven not for profit Organisation providing support to youth, families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

We are seeking a Full Time, dynamic, experienced and committed Youth Service Manager to oversee the delivery of crisis and transitional accommodation support to clients. This role is fast paced, involving the provision of multi-layered support services, building resilience, independence and empowerment within young people.

The key objectives of this position are:

  • To manage the operations of the Indigo Junction Youth Accommodation Service
  • To provide supported crisis and transitional accommodation and related support services for young people who have experienced a crisis resulting in homelessness.
  • To ensure clients are safe, supported and increase their knowledge and confidence to reduce the likelihood of future crises.
  • To support young people towards more independent living by empowering them with life skills.
  • To ensure client outcomes are optimised through the services participation in local coordinated interagency responses.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:

  • Operate in accordance with Indigo Junction Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Oversee the safe operations of the Indigo Junction Youth Service in accordance with OHS policy, procedures and best practice principles.
  • Support the Program Manager to ensure accurate documentation of procedures pertaining to the service agreement.
  • Operate in accordance with CPFS Service Standards and funding contractual requirements.
  • Compile detailed reports on service delivery activities to be presented to the Board and relevant funding bodies.
  • Assist and prepare budgets within organisational constraints that allow the operations of the service to run efficiently.
  • Participate in property allocation and client intake activity in accordance with the National Community Housing Regulatory Framework.
  • Operate within Indigo Junction’s Staff Code of Conduct.
  • Provide high level staff management, including rostering, and undertake a supervisory role in regard to reporting staff.
  • Manage projects and partnerships that align with service outcomes and organisational objectives.
  • Develop and implement procedures and maintain quality data collection in accordance with Indigo Junction policy and contract requirements.
  • Maintain records to a high standard and support program evaluation, reporting and audit processes as required.
  • Contribute to organisational grant applications including basic research and data collection.
  • Other duties as directed by the Program Manager or Chief Executive Officer.

Desired experience:

  • Client Intake and assessment.
  • Development of support plans.
  • Practical supports for the effective implementation of the support plan.
  • Monitoring and Review of Case Plans.
  • Case closure and exit planning.
  • Facilitating the provision of programs to meet identified needs and build on the strengths of the client group.
  • Foster a collaborative and coordinated approach to ensure seamless service delivery with both internal and external services.
  • Reporting and evaluation of the service provided and outcomes for the client.
  • Develop and maintain strategic networks and relationships within the sector relevant to the position.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships and collaborative programs to promote quality client and service outcomes.
  • Coordinate all day to day household operational procedures.

Selection criteria:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant human services area
  • Minimum of 3 years appropriate experience; or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Sound understanding of the principles of Trauma Informed Care.
  • Experience and demonstrated competence in working with young people in crisis.
  • Understanding of the cultural and social factors of homelessness and other crisis.
  • Experience in responding to alcohol and drug problems within harm reduction principles.
  • Experience and demonstrated competence in working with young people with multiple needs and issues.
  • Experience in providing advocacy and referral.
  • Cultural competency and experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Current Working With Children Clearance
  • 'C' Class WA Drivers License
