Job description

Passionate about supporting youth?

Are you ready to embark on a journey that’s all about supporting your community and promoting personal growth, that will then ultimately support school leavers in finding the job they want?

We hire people with great talents, potential and passion. We look for people who are excited to go above and beyond for their customers, thrive on working through challenges and have a high degree of accountability.

The Role

This Youth Support Worker position will be based in our Bega office and could be a great fit for a graduate, a parent or anyone looking for flexibility. This is a part time position working 3 days a week and can potentially transition into a full time role over time, if you wish.

You won’t be desk bound in this role. You need to love networking as you will initially focus on building relationships with local schools, career advisors and other community organisations. Then your focus will turn to servicing your clients.

  • Building great relationships with participants to better support them
  • Building relationships with community organisations to attract new participant referrals
  • Assessing the needs and ambitions of the participants
  • Identifying barriers to employment and providing solutions focussed approaches
  • Provide support young people to achieve ongoing education and/or employment.

Opportunity & Your Career

We will take you through a 13-week induction program, giving you all the knowledge, you need. Covering everything from government administration compliance, how to best have effective conversations, how to help someone compile their CV, communicating and presenting at an interview and navigating our systems and CRM’s.

To be considered, you will have...

  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • A current driver’s licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Willing to complete a Criminal History Check and able to pass a Working with Children Check
  • Ideally you will hold a Cert IV Youth Work, Cert IV Employment Services or Cert IV Community Services or higher or equivalent (if you don’t hold formal qualifications, you must be happy to obtain).
