We are a committed team dedicated to providing tailored care and guidance to young individuals with complex needs, particularly those navigating challenges associated with ASD, ADHD, Schizophrenia, Self Harm, Complex Behaviours such as Verbal and Physical Aggression and Intellectual Impairments.
We are currently seeking empathetic and resilient team members to support a 17 year-old client residing on landsborough on the Sunshine Coast. This role requires individuals who can assist them in their daily routines, prioritising their safety and well-being while fostering independence and growth.
In addition to supporting this client, we have multiple Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes on the Sunshine Coast requiring dedicated teams. Ideally, candidates will possess the flexibility to work across various teams.
Job Description ⭐️
We are in search of experienced and resilient individuals to join our team as Complex Youth/Support Workers. Successful candidates will demonstrate a deep understanding of working with clients facing diverse needs, including ADHD, ASD, intellectual disabilities, schizophrenia, PTSD, and exhibiting high levels of verbal and physical aggression, as well as self harm tenancies.
Key Responsibilities ⭐️
- Provide 2:1 & 1:1 support to our clients, requiring both male and female support workers.
- Implement individualised care plans and positive behaviour support strategies tailored to each client's unique needs.
- Employ effective communication and documentation methods to monitor progress and incidents.
- Handle challenging behaviours with empathy, adhering to restrictive practices guidelines.
- Cultivate a safe and supportive environment conducive to our clients' growth and well-being.
Requirements ⭐️
- Previous experience in supporting individuals with complex needs, preferably in a youth and child safety context.
- Thorough understanding of restrictive practices with a commitment to compliance.
- Exceptional communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Full availability to meet the needs of the clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License (P2 or above) and access to a reliable vehicle.
- NDIS Module – 'Quality, Safety & You'.
- NDIS Worker Check.
- HLTAID003 (or equivalent) First Aid Certificate & CPR.
- Blue Card.
