About the position
The purpose of the Residential Intake & Assessment worker role is to support the work of a multidisciplinary team assisting with all aspects of intake and assessment of vulnerable young people into the service. As a Residential Intake & Assessment worker you will be required to work a 76 hour fortnight, business hours. The application of clinical skills in the assessment and support of drug and/or alcohol withdrawal (including medication management) from substance use as well as a focus on primary health care for vulnerable young people.
Some of your key responsibilities will be:
- Communicate with young people and relevant family and/or workers to organise for intake assessment.
- Assess young person for suitability for admission into YSAS Residential Withdrawal Units.
- Facilitate timely data entry of confidential client information into relevant data bases and information management systems, ensuring records and files are stored and retrieved efficiently and securely;
- Assessment of young people with complex clinical presentations.
- Maintain accurate and secure client data collection within standards of practice and prescribed YSAS systems and tools;
- Ensure client files and databases are up to date, accurate and meet both organizational and legislative requirements.
