Youth Worker (Intake) (Internal Applicants Only)

• Fixed term until May 2024
• Part time (45.6 hours per fortnight)
• Remuneration SCHCADS level 5 dependent on qualifications and experience + 11 % Employer superannuation

About the position

The purpose of the Residential Intake & Assessment worker role is to support the work of a multidisciplinary team assisting with all aspects of intake and assessment of vulnerable young people into the service. As a Residential Intake & Assessment worker you will be required to work a 76 hour fortnight, business hours. The application of clinical skills in the assessment and support of drug and/or alcohol withdrawal (including medication management) from substance use as well as a focus on primary health care for vulnerable young people.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

1. Communicate with young people and relevant family and/or workers to organise for intake assessment.
2. Assess young person for suitability for admission into YSAS Residential Withdrawal Units.
3. Facilitate timely data entry of confidential client information into relevant data bases and information management systems, ensuring records and files are stored and retrieved efficiently and securely;
4. Assessment of young people with complex clinical presentations.
5. Maintain accurate and secure client data collection within standards of practice and prescribed YSAS systems and tools;
6. Ensure client files and databases are up to date, accurate and meet both organizational and legislative requirements.
