Job description

At McCullough Robertson, we pride ourselves on being approachable and down-to-earth. Join us to engage in meaningful work with high-calibre clients, making a real difference in complex matters.

During your clerkship, you'll be supported to succeed with exceptional opportunities for growth  within our committed and high performing teams.

We are seeking pre-penultimate and penultimate law students who value a growth pathway, starting with our Clerkship Program and moving towards securing a place in our Graduate Program.

Our DNA

As a fiercely independent Australian grown law firm, we deliver more than just outcomes. After 98 years in commercial law, we continue to grow and evolve. We strive towards a diverse and inclusive environment that supports our values and creates a collaborative and innovative experience for our people, our clients and our community partners.

Our goal is for each and every one of our employees to build a rewarding and sustainable career, rich with opportunities, fulfilling relationships, and a sense of achievement.

What’s in it for you?

During McCullough Robertson’s clerkship program, you will be provided with structured daily development and coaching sessions aimed to introduce you to all facets of the legal industry as well as enhance your personal and professional growth. You will conduct work on real client matters and have direct access to your supervisor and our partners, who are committed to aiding your development and achieving your goals.

Furthermore, we offer:

  • Training and development – our Clerkship Program offers you support through a collaborative learning and development framework, complemented by hands on work experience. You will work closely with our partners and senior lawyers on complex and high-profile matters.
  • Future career opportunities – students completing our Clerkship Program may be considered for ongoing casual opportunities and our Graduate Program.
  • Paid education benefits – as a graduate, we will not only pay for your PLT and provide study leave, we go a step further by providing our Graduates with a HECS benefit to help you pay off your student debt sooner!
  • Diversity and Inclusion – we embed our five diversity pillars - Gender, Family and Flexibility, Cultural Diversity, LGBTIQ+ and Disability and Access - in everything we do, allowing our people to bring their whole selves to work.
  • Community – our people have the opportunity to give back and facilitate positive social change through pro bono volunteer work and supporting our community partner initiatives.
