About the Role
Casey is accredited by the RACP for Basic Training for those on secondment from the Victorian Basic Paediatric Training Network, and for Advanced Training in General Paediatrics with a perinatal component. General Practice and Emergency Registrars who are looking to gain further Paediatric and Neonatal skills and believe they have the skills and experience to function at Paediatric Registrar level, are welcome to apply.
The successful applicant will join a team of 7 registrars to provide 24/7 cover for our services in one of the major growth corridors in Melbourne. This position offers a broad range of general paediatric experience in an outer metropolitan setting as well as plenty of neonatal experience in our nursery.Please note these positions are subject to a centralised match process conducted by the Victorian Paediatric Advanced Training group (a new initiative to coordinate centralised recruitment for most many Victorian sites).
What you need:
- Medical Registration with AHPRA
- Minimum of 3 months prior experience in Neonatal care (desirable 6 months) or, for General Practice/Emergency trainees without neonatal experience, a minimum of 3 months of acute care (e.g. ICU or anaesthetics) including airway skills. One referee should be able to verify the extent of your neonatal experience including neonatal resuscitation or your acute care and airway skills.
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Satisfactory completion of an Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) course or equivalent within the last 5 years is desirable.
