THE POSITION: The Strategic Land Use Planning Branch is seeking a recent Graduate / Strategic Land Use Planner to join the team to assist with a diverse work program. The position will be exposed to a wide range of Strategic Planning projects including Planning Proposals, Development Control Plan preparation and amendments, Strategic Studies, Heritage, Local Infrastructure Contributions and Planning Certificate services.
SELECTION CRITERIA: To be considered for the position, applicants should address all the criteria in the ‘Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience’ section of the Position Description, which include:
Essential:
- A tertiary qualification (degree) in Land Use Planning or related field (students reaching the end of their degree who can demonstrate on the job experience may also be considered);
- Basic knowledge of the discipline of Land Use planning and the NSW planning system;
- Demonstrated skills in research and analysis and data presentation in the Land Use planning context;
- Proven written and oral communication skills that have been developed to a level that would allow for a high-quality service to customers;
- Basic project management experience encompassing scoping, resourcing, monitoring and review of projects;
- Proficiency in word process and data entry such as Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Current driver’s licence.
Desirable:
- A basic knowledge of Local Government processes for Land Use planning is desirable.
SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Full time, permanent position, 70 hours per fortnight.
- This position is a Grade 5 position with the salary range commencing at $81,124 p.a. with salary progression based on the applicant demonstrating proficiency in certain competencies and appropriate performance.
