The Bright Spark Program
Apprentices will join our Bright Spark Program in January 2025. Positions are available to school leavers, people looking to change careers or anyone already completing an electrical apprenticeship.

Nationally Accredited trades Certificates being offered will include
- Lineworker (Certificate III in ESI – Distribution Overhead)
- Cable Jointer (Certificate III in ESI – Distribution Underground)
- Electrician (Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician)

Here's a breakdown of the recruitment process and timeline
To apply, please click apply now. Within 2 business days you will receive an email to book in for the Aptitude Assessment and complete a one-way video interview.
July: Aptitude Assessments commence.
August: Shortlisted candidates attend face to face interview.
September: Shortlisted candidates complete background checks and attend functional medicals.
October: Offers made to successful candidates.
November: New Ausgrid Bright Sparks invited to welcome event ahead of January 2025.
As part of our recruitment process, we conduct several checks to ensure applicants' suitability. These may include police/criminal background checks, medical evaluations, right to work verifications, and reference checks.
Application requirements
- You must be an Australian citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.
- You must have completed Year 10 and/or be over 17 years to apply for a full-time apprenticeship.
- You hold or are working towards a driver’s licence.
