Job Description
Graduates participating in the Services Australia National Graduate Program undertake a variety of work across the agency in one of our 10 streams:
- Communications
- Data
- Digital
- Finance and Accounting
- Generalist
- Human Resources
- Legal
- Service Delivery
- Service Design
- Social Work
Specialist graduates may have customised placements.
Graduates will be provided with ongoing learning and development opportunities during the program. The National Graduate Program allows graduates to choose the direction of their career.
Graduates are required to:
- exercise some autonomy and decision making with support, clarification and advice from senior employees
- demonstrate a high level of productivity
- perform both routine and more complex tasks
- deliver results in accordance with own team work goals and business plans
- liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
- manage and organise work in the context of competing priorities
- display behaviours consistent with the APS Values and Code of Conduct and relevant workplace legislation.

Mandatory Qualifications
Have completed or due to complete an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, recognised in Australia, within five years prior to program commencement.
- Have a Weighted Average Mark of 60 or above to apply for the Legal stream.
- Have a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice or be eligible to obtain one (following commencement).
- Have completed or be due to complete an Australian Associated of Social Work approved qualification to apply for the Social Work stream.
Security Clearance level required: Baseline or Negative Vetting Level 1 (or ability to obtain and maintain)
