THE ROLE

We have a range of Risk teams for you to be exposed to including:  

  • Enterprise Risk & Operations (ER&O) 
  • Cyber & Protective Services (CPS) 
  • Compliance & Regulatory Engagement (CARE) 
  • Operational Risk & Assurance (OR&A)   
  • Direct Insurance Australia (DIA) Risk, Intermediated Insurance Australia (IIA) Risk and New Zealand (NZ) Risk   
  • Chief Underwriting Office (CUO) 

We’re seeking attentive, collaborative, people-focused graduates to complement our wonderful risk teams. A Graduate with the right attitude, loves problem-solving and can design and execute creative solutions. Graduates will have a buddy in each team rotation. 

Group Risk is an integral part of our business and oversees our approach to risk management with reference to roles and responsibilities, frameworks and policies, and the risk governance relationship between the board, board committees and senior management.

We aim to be a trusted business partner and advisor supporting IAG to navigate uncertainty, deliver strategic outcomes and play to win with confidence. 

We will help IAG to actively manage risk with a positive risk culture and a contemporary risk management model that balances risks and opportunities and gives the business confidence to pursue its goals reliably and within risk appetite. 

We will do this as “One IAG Group Risk team” delivering expert capability through an engagement model orientated around the business. 

As a Risk Graduate, you’ll have exposure to the following: 

  • Ensuring IAG has appropriate frameworks, governance, policies and tools to achieve its strategic objectives within the Board approved risk appetite 
  • Protecting IAG people, places and systems against cyber, physical and internal fraud threats and ensuring IAG has the right level of operational resilience to respond to any crisis situation 
  • IAG’s compliance strategy and our regulators to ensure that IAG has clear and cogent compliance frameworks in place 
  • Governing Insurance Risk across the Group via the Chief Underwriting Office - this area also issues the divisional underwriting licences, and advises on portfolio management, underwriting and pricing across IAG

REQUIREMENTS  

  • A university degree or higher (from 2022-2024) or be in your penultimate year of a relevant degree with graduation expected by the end of 2024 - Risk, Commerce, Economics, Business, Finance, Communications or Engineering disciplines  
  • An average credit achievement (65%+), and  
  • Are an Australian and/or New Zealand citizen or Australian and/or New Zealand permanent resident
