This is an excellent opportunity for senior registrars with an interest in rural generalist O&G practice.
The position is RANZCOG accredited and comprises at least 4 theatre lists per week, labour ward experience locally and one day/fortnight at Monash Clayton. The position also includes gynaecology clinics, following through your own patients; colposcopy and outpatient laser, as well as theatre lists with visiting sub-specialists in gynae-oncology.
There is the potential to complete the following ATMs: Generalist Obstetrics ATM, Generalist Gynaecology ATM, Essential O&G Skills ATM, Pelvic Floor Disorders ATM, Hysteroscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery ATM, Colposcopy ATM Sexual & Reproductive Health Pathway Modules: Contraception Module, Sexual health module, Menopause Module, Care of Vulvovaginal Conditions, Acute Gynaecology & Early Pregnancy, Colposcopy
This is a training position with committed Consultant mentors looking to assist registrars to develop true generalist skills, with a view to an ongoing regional/rural practice.
To maximise training opportunities the successful applicant would need to be committed to a full 12-month position, and live in the area during this time.
Our preferred candidate will have:
- MBBS or equivalent degree with registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Australian Healthcare Experience, having worked in either a Hospital or similar environment.
- Acceptance to RANZCOG Registrar program OR Acceptance to either RACGP or ACRRM GP Registrar program.
- Experience working as an O&G Registrar.
- Demonstrated appropriate level experience and skills in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients.
IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be fully (3 doses) vaccinated for COVID-19 and influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
