About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Technologist, the 2IC Chief Technologist supports the delivery of high-quality, accurate medical imaging services to referrers and patients. The role has a strong clinical and commercial focus, providing improvements to both clinical and financial outcomes.
Key accountabilities include:
- Assist with the managing, developing and mentoring technologist staff and provide clinical guidance in the clinic
- Ensure outstanding service delivery and provide supervision of the day-to-day management of the Medical Imaging department
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives, and review and refine work practices to improve clinical and financial outcomes
- Provide the highest level of patient care possible
- Establish and maintain strong, cooperative relationships with key referrers and stakeholders
Key selection criteria:
- Ability to manage, coach and lead clinic staff
- Demonstrated ability to perform high-quality medical imaging examinations employing correct techniques to the accepted industry standard or above
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with radiologists, patients, staff and other medical and non-medical personnel verbally and in writing
