Arnhem Early Learning Centre, East Arnhem Land's newest and premier childcare facility located in Nhulunbuy on the Gove Peninsula is seeking for a full time 2IC/ ED leader,  Cook, 2 full time ECT,  full time Group Leaders and full time Diploma Qualified or Cert III Childcare worker to join our happy, dedicated and professional team!

We are a 119-place Centre with Exceeding rating, plenty of outdoor creative spaces, veggie patch, one and only water feature splash pad area in town and chook house balanced with fully air-conditioned rooms and modern indoor equipment.  We have Babies to Over 3s in LDC and school aged children in OSHC. We also operate the most exciting and popular Vacation Care program in town!

 

2IC/ Ed Leader 

Job description

  • Be responsible for the development, implementation and reflection of a high quality program based on service values and philosophy in collboration with the Director, Educators and Management
  • Inspire and mentor educators regarding implementation of service pedagogy/program to ensure compliance of the NQF and National Law and regulations, NQS and approved learning frameworks.
  • Willing to step up when the director is away       
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators and staff to deliver best outcomes for families and children.

 To be successful in your application, you will have:

  • Minimum 5 years experience working in Early Childhood Service 
  • Must have a diploma or working towards ECT
  • Be willing to accept teh role of Nominated Supervisor
  • Demostrated knowledge Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and/or My Time Our Place Framework, Education and Care Services National Law and, Education and Care Services National Regulations 

Salary: $70k to 80k per year depending on years of experience and qualifications, plus heavily subsidised housing, 2 return airfare per year from Gove to Darwin or Gove to Cairns, free childcare and relocation assistance

Cook

Responsibilities;

  • To plan and design rotating menus for at least 3 months
  • Organise the preparation and cooking 3 meals for minimum of 100 children each day
  • Monitor food stocks and Order food supplies
  • Discuss food preparation issues with the Centre Director and Business Manager
  • Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • Prepare and cook food in a timely manner
  • Check the freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
  • Maintaining high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen at all times
  • Prepare food items for children as requested, considering dietary requirements, allergies and cultural needs.
  • Control and minimize waste

To be successful in your application, you will have:

Salary: $55k to 65k per year depending on years of experience and qualifications

 ECT

ECT must hold their BACHELOR in Early Childhood Education and have at least 3  years experience working in the industry, must be confident and have a good understanding of EYLF and NQS. Working towards ECT will also be considered.

Responsibilities;

  • be responsible for management of the day-to-day operation of the assigned room, including providing leadership and support to educators and staff within your team in line with relevant regulations, policies and procedures
  • in collaboration with the Educational Leader assist with the development, implementation and reflection of the educational program to provide a high-quality program for all children and families
  • build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff and management to deliver best outcomes for families and children.
  • in conjunction with the Educational Leader, make curriculum decisions that uphold all children’s rights in consultation with relevant stakeholders; children, families, educators/ staff and management

To be successful in your application, you will have:

  • Teacher Accreditation
  • Current Anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training
  • Child Protection Training
  • Current Provide an Emergency First Aid response in an Education and Care Setting qualification
  • Bachelor in Teaching or Working towards ECT will also be considered.
  • must have at least 3 years teaching experience

Salary: $60k to 75k per year depending on years of experience and qualifications

 

Group Leaders 

  • To be a passionate leader and strive to achieve ‘Service’ goals (as outlined in Policy Manual) and ensure our ‘Service’ philosophy is reflected in daily practice.
  • Assist in the collection, recording and evaluation of children’s records and observations, as required by Department of Education and Communities and the National Quality Standard, and ensure all educators in your room are complying with these requirements.
  • Be familiar with the Early Years Learning Framework and utilise to inspire independent learners. 
  • To encourage families to participate in Service decision-making and experiences.
  • Ensure the Day Book/Journal/Daily Diary and assist Educators as necessary, ensuring that this valuable communication tool is being fully utilised as a means of reporting to families
  • Assist the Educational Leader and guide room staff in observing and planning for individual children and the total learning environment.
  • Assist in ensuring that the room is aesthetically supporting family involvement and representing each child and their needs and interests. 
  • To ensure staff are aware of current thinking and practice in early childhood education, and service delivery.

 

To be successful in your application, you will have:

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent)
  • Valid Working with Children Check clearance
  • Accredited Child Protection Training
  • must have at least 2 years experience working in early childhood education and care setting

Qualified Childcare workers 

  • In compliance with the OH&S Policy, ensure a safe environment is maintained for staff and children, with particular attention to children with anaphylaxis, allergies, asthma etc.
  • To develop the Children’s Program (reflecting Early Years Learning Framework guidelines). Write up the program, co-operating with staff and Children’s needs.
  • To ensure that accurate records are kept in regards to accident, incident, injury, illness and medication. The appropriate books/records are to be checked on a regular basis to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • To liaise with families in regards to the day to day happenings.

 

To be successful in your application, you will have:

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or Certificate III (or equivalent)
  • Valid Working with Children Check clearance
  • Accredited Child Protection Training
  • must have at least 2 years experience working in early childhood education and care setting

Salary: $53k to 63k per year depending on years of experience and qualifications

 

WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER

• Assist to monitor and evaluate health and safety procedures with the Service.

• Assist to prevent avoidable accidents, injuries and work-related illnesses in the Service.

• Assist to ensure workplace health and safety policies and procedures are reviewed on a yearly basis. Assist in the administrative management of the company Safety Management Syst

• Must have completed qualifications in Work Health and Safety and must have at least 4 years experience working as a Work Health and Safety Officer.

To be successful in your application, you will have:

• Current approved Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting qualification

• Current approved Anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training

• A current and sound knowledge of all aspects of WHS legislation, requirements, and practices

• The ability to guide and support all staff in maintaining a safe workplace environment.

Salary: $55k to 65k per year depending on years of experience and qualifications
