The Opportunity
Reporting to a supportive, friendly, and highly likable senior manager, the Inbound Call Centre Operators will provide high quality customer service to the residents of Canberra.
You will have the support of an established team of 70 + staff and work to supportive management who will ensure you successfully complete a structured training program proven to give you all the tools you need to succeed in this role.

The Customer Service Officers work as a team member of the Customer Services Branch.
Working in a friendly and large team of 70 representatives, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of customer service in relation to energy, water, sewerage, and gas enquiries through:
- Responding to customer inbound telephone enquiries
- Resolving customer enquiries at first point of contact
- Liaising with customers regarding all matters relating to customer accounts
- Processing clerical tasks associated with all aspects of account management
- Promoting services and products to the public
- Operating PC’s efficiently utilising various software packages
- Contributing to continual improvement within the team
- You will be offered full-time hours working on a rotating roster, 8am – 6pm, Monday to Friday (8am – 4pm, 9am – 5pm or 10am – 6pm)
You will have excellent customer service skills and a great attitude – being passionate about providing great customer service is a must!
You will have demonstrated customer service experience and be comfortable learning new computer systems and talking on the phone.
Reliability and maturity is key to your success as well as being eager to learn new skills and be able to fit in well within a large team without getting involved in office politics or gossip. In addition you will have:
- Ability to learn and demonstrate effective customer service
- Relevant industry experience and training, with experience in a customer service role essential
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a collaborative team member
- Practical PC skills – Microsoft Word and Excel
- Presenting a positive image of the organisation in all forums
- Following safety rules and regulations
- You must be available to attend an Assessment Centre on 19th April 2024 and be able to commence if successful within two weeks
- You must be able to successfully pass a national criminal history check and have full working rights
- $30.58 per hour + GST
- Initial 6-month contract with extension opportunities
