We are setting up a brand-new state of the art manufacturing facility in Cranbourne West and are looking for an A Grade electrician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, innovative, and leading food manufacturer.
A permanent full-time appointment, the A Grade Industrial Electrician - Maintenance Team will report to the Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commissioning of our new site in Cranbourne West and once commissioned will be a key part of our Maintenance Team. As an experienced Electrician, you will be responsible for conducting electrical site maintenance to deliver a safe and efficiently running site. This role covers site utility services, processing equipment, filling machines, packaging lines and warehousing. Given a multisite nature of the operation, the Electrician may be required to attend our Knoxfield site from time to time. This role presents an opportunity for career growth within a successful and expanding business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with the Rangebank project team to assist with the electrical installation, setup, and commissioning of our new manufacturing operation.
- Participate in training on new equipment and provide leadership, training, and mentorship to other new team members.
- Assist the team in testing the newly installed equipment and machinery.
- Working closely with the Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and other teams to understand and trouble shoot production, quality, and equipment issues as they arise.
- Once the site is operational:
- Ensuring stoppages, performance issues and breakdowns are rectified in a safe and timely manner.
- Electrical fault finding, diagnostics, root cause analysis and maintenance of equipment & instrumentation.
- Assisting other members of the Maintenance team with changeovers, breakdowns, repairs and fault finding, as required.
- Supporting the Engineering, Operations and Systems Managers to ensure the site is maintained to a safe and reliable standard.
- Using the MEX system to ensure all maintenance and work order requests are completed in a timely manner.
- Train, mentor, and coach the operations teams on the safe and correct operating procedures of the equipment.
- Due to the nature of the role and the specialised skills gained through this role you will offer support and training to the maintenance and operations team.
- Supervision, mentoring and coaching apprentices as required.
- Working safely in safety-first culture while maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.
- Driving continuous improvement on performance, efficiency, and safety.
- Project and installation work as required.
- Completion of JSAs and SWMS as required.
Essential qualifications and experience required for the role:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience working within an FMCG environment.
- A current Victorian A Class Electrical License.
- Experience fault finding with low voltage control systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, OEM manuals to understand equipment.
The following qualifications and experience will be highly regarded:
- Qualifications/experience in installing and fault-finding instrumentation.
- Experience with Mex

- Experience with utility services, processing equipment, filling machines, packaging lines in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding and experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a similar role within a UHT processing environment is a distinct advantage.
