An exciting opportunity exists for a talented Digital Communications Officer to join a State Government Department with a mission to facilitate the development and implementation of policies, programs, and initiatives. About the role
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring web style and accessibility standards are met. Proficiently utilising content management systems to upload pre-approved content across diverse platforms. Collaborating closely with internal teams, you will facilitate the authorisation process, conduct checks and approvals to ensure uploaded content aligns with web suitability standards.
A summary of your responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create clear and user-friendly content tailored to the target audience, ensuring it is easily comprehensible;
- Utilise Google Analytics and other analytical tools to generate comprehensive reports, extracting valuable insights to inform content strategies and understand user behavior effectively;
- Establish and sustain documentation encompassing strategies, policies, standards, and administrative procedures related to online communication strategies, ensuring comprehensive and up-to-date records;
- Actively participate in the cross-government content community, engaging with peers and contributing insights to enhance overall content quality and strategy; and
- Contribute to the maintenance of departmental websites, intranet, and franchise content, utilising specified content management systems as a baseline, to ensure consistent and updated online platforms.
About you
- A relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, digital communication or online accessibility;
- Experience with government online management (or other public sector environment);
- Proficiency with Teamsite, Squiz Matrix, Siteimprove and/or Monsido and Google analytics;
- Working knowledge of state government best practices and standards (preferable but not essential); and
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
