Aboriginal Cadetship
Are you an Aboriginal undergraduate student studying a Bachelor of Nursing, Midwifery or Allied Health?
Are you looking for paid employment within a hospital setting?
Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is currently seeking applications from eligible Aboriginal students who are interested in a Cadetship.
Role requirements
The successful candidate shall:
- Identify as Aboriginal
- Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor Degree of Nursing, Midwifery or Allied Health (this does include the double degree in Nursing and Midwifery)
- Have maintained a Pass grade in all subjects
- Live in Victoria
- Have successfully progressed past first year

- Have a keen interest in working in a public health setting to consolidate skills
- Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development
About the Role at CGH
- CGH offer an inclusive and culturally safe work space
- The Cadet will work as an assistant to the health care team in providing Excellence in Care
- Work will involve direct and indirect patient care
- Activities and tasks, will be delegated in accordance with the professional judgement of the supervising health professional, and in accordance with the level of achieved educational preparation and assessed competence of the individual Cadet
- The Cadet will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, assisting healthcare workers to provide delegated aspects of person-centred care
- The Cadet will work under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Health Professional at all times, and work within the parameters of this Cadet position description
- Flexibility will be provided with rostering in the workplace to fulfil university and clinical placement requirements
