We are One Peninsula Health.What You Will Be DoingPeninsula Health is offering a Cadetship Program that is open to Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health students in their final year/s of study who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander's and who are enrolled in a course of study that will lead to a certified qualification. The Cadetship program is supported by the Department of Health.As a successful applicant you will work as part of the health team under the supervision of a health practitioner relevant to your discipline, for 40 shifts across the year. In the hospital setting, the role can include assisting with patients' activities of daily living, providing wellbeing support through communication, helping maintain a safe and clean environment, and supporting clinical procedures.The benefits of the program are broad and varied, and include:

What You NeedWe anticipate you will:
  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background.
  • Be currently enrolled in a course of study that will lead to a certified degree in Nursing, Midwifery or Allied Health.
  • Have the ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Are located in Victoria or a cross-border community

Selection Criteria Essential: Do you identify as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander?
Essential: I am enrolled in a bachelor's degree in nursing and/or midwifery, or a bachelor's degree or masters/doctorate graduate-entry degree in an allied health discipline and have progressed beyond first year?
Essential: I am living in Victoria or a cross-border community?
Essential: I have maintained a pass grade in all study subjects?
