Northern HealthAllied Health Aboriginal Cadetship
(Allied Health Assistant)
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Allied Health student who identifies as aboriginal to join the team at Northern Health as an Allied Health Assistant.
The Role:
The Northern Health Allied Health Aboriginal Cadetship offers paid employment experience and cultural and clinical support to Aboriginal students undertaking studies within an Allied Health discipline currently represented in the workforce of Northern Health.
The successful applicant will work in an Allied Health Assistant role to enhance the development of their skills and knowledge in health and their discipline to assist with the successful completion of their studies. Cadets will work under the supervision of clinicians to observe and provide appropriate clinical care across an array of specialities.
The role is a casual position where you may be required to travel and work across the various Northern Health Campuses. Allocation of shifts will be flexible and will work around the study requirements of the successful candidate.
For applicants that are currently living and studying in rural and regional areas a ‘living away from home' package is available. This package can provide support with the cost of accommodation, travel and meals to allow applicants from rural and regional areas to have access to this opportunity.
About you:
- In accordance with the Equal Opportunity Act (2010), this is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified position;
- Applicants must identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander;
- Applicants must provide evidence of passing grades in all subjects completed thus far within a Bachelor or Masters degree in an Allied Health discipline;
- Proven ability to work in a team;
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills;
- A willingness to participate in service delivery activities and demonstrate a commitment to continued quality improvement;
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
