Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Specialist, and in accordance with legal requirements and relevant professional competencies provide support services to Cape Barren Island Community Health Centre (CBICHC), by:
- Support and assist the CBICHC Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in the provision of health care to the Cape Barren Island community including engagement with local Aboriginal community members to improve and address the delivery of culturally appropriate healthcare
- Participating as an active and contributing member willing to enhance team operations and achieve health service goals
- Communicating effectively with CBICHC and other health staff regarding local matters, processes and operational tasks and assist with creating a culturally welcoming environment for Aboriginal community members.
The Truwana/Cape Barren Island Community Health Centre:
- Provides primary health, outpatient and emergency health services to the island population of approximately 100 people.
- The usual pattern of work will entail a one week on/three weeks off routine. Travel to/from Truwana / Cape Barren Island from either Launceston or Flinders Island, and on-site accommodation, will be provided each rotation for successful applicants who reside elsewhere.
- Truwana / Cape Barren Island is the second largest island of the Furneaux Group in the Bass Strait and is a remote and isolated location. Applicants should familiarise themselves with the various aspects of working at this location (the contact officer is available for answering questions).
Permanent, part time, shift-worker (fully rotational) position working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible

You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- District Allowances of up to $2385.25 per annum for a family
- Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3,533 per annum and an additional salary allowance of 10%
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
