The Hub Team
Hubs will bring together different workforces and practices to create an integrated Hub team and a consolidated intake point in each Hub area to create a new way of support for:
• Women, children, young people and families experiencing family violence.
• Perpetrators of family violence.
• Families in need of support with the care, development and well-being of children.
The key responsibilities of the MDAS Aboriginal Hub Practitioner are:
• Receive police referrals for women and children who are victims of family violence and respond and/or refer to appropriate services in a timely manner.
• Receive police referrals for perpetrators of family violence (known as “Enhanced Intake Services’) and respond and/or refer to appropriate services in a timely manner.
• Receive child well-being referrals and respond and/or refer to appropriate services in a timely manner.
- Meet KPI funded targets.
Key Selection Criteria:
* Designs and delivers innovative practices that enhance quality practice standards for Aboriginal people.
* Understands how to build and establish effective practice cultures.
* Identifies change required, describes reasons for it and engages people who can deliver the change.
* Strong administrative skills, with effectiveness in developing tasks.
* Managing resources to achieve targets within set timeframes.
* Ability to engage with children/young people who may be demonstrating challenging behaviours and/or trauma related behaviours associated with the child abuse and/or neglect.
* Solve problems based on operation knowledge and experience, and following a continuous improvement process, in line with policy procedures and therapeutic approach and frameworks.
Qualification/s:
A Tertiary level qualification (or preparedness to obtain a qualification as part of the role) in addition to previous, case management experience and relevant experience in a similar role is preferred.
Other Screening Requirements:
A current Driver’s License that allows you to drive in Australia.
A current Employee Working with Children Check card.
A current National Police Check.
COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate & Booster information or a valid medical exemption.
