About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Parenting Support Practitioner! You will support to build a safe and inclusive community where parents want to raise their children. Additionally, you will facilitate evidence-based group parenting education programs and ongoing Parenting Support groups or playgroups.
Responsibilities include- Deliver highly effective and appropriate Parenting Support services to families
- Delivers highly effective and developmentally appropriate evidenced based support services to children and families
- Develops positive and effective relationships with those in a parenting role, children and the broader community which encourage self-determination
- Effectively manage the delivery of community engagement and development strategies and activities
- Educate and assist clients with regard to their rights, roles and responsibilities, including participation and empowerment strategies
This is a permanent part-time position, 26.6 hours per week, based in Sunshine, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 5.
You will have- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood, Counselling, Community Development, Welfare or related field, a degree qualification preferred
- Relevant experience in Social Service environment is required
- As CaPSS comes under the TSA FV Stream - training and/or experience in family violence is ideal
- Understanding and commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army
- A VIC Driver's Licence
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends
