Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).⚫️🟡🔴About the OpportunityThe Female Identified Perinatal Family Conferencing Facilitator will be based in the SWSLHD Perinatal Family Conferencing team.The Female Identified Perinatal Family Conferencing Facilitator will work as an independent facilitator to promote early engagement and interagency planning with pregnant women and families at risk of their newborns entering out of home care at birth. The Aboriginal PFC Coordinator will work with Aboriginal families attached to the program to support the specific cultural needs of families and that a holistic approach to service coordination is utilised.As a part of the SWSLHD Perinatal Family Conferencing team, you will be supported by an Aboriginal PARVAN Lead and have access to a wide range of cultural supports across the service including cultural supervision, SWSLHD Aboriginal Health Unit and a large workforce of Aboriginal colleagues.Where You'll Be WorkingSWSLHD operates its services on the lands of the Dharawal, Darug and Gundungurra peoples and has a rich history of working alongside local Aboriginal organisations and programs.The position has an office based in Ingleburn. The team services community across the South West Sydney area and travel across the district will be required.How to Apply

  • Demonstrated ability to provide specialist child protection consultation and advice with a cultural lens, supporting Aboriginal families to navigate care and link to appropriate services that meet cultural, health and psychosocial needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, consult and negotiate effectively with management, health staff, and external stakeholders including high level oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
