The Role: As a Finance Manager, you'll hold a key position in driving financial leadership and operational excellence within our organisation. This full-time role involves overseeing our financial operations and strategies, ensuring compliance, and maximising financial performance across our portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial and management reports (not limited to cashflow, P & L, Balance Sheet, budget variance) and submit them to the CEO, highlighting key insights, ratios, analytics, commentaries, and recommendations.
- Perform ad hoc analysis pro-actively or as directed, to provide performance insights that aid growth and focus appropriate resource allocation.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, highlighting key insights, ratios, trends, and variances. Communicate financial performance effectively to stakeholders, including management, board members, and funding agencies.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team, leveraging financial reports, analytics, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Identify opportunities for revenue optimisation and cost efficiency to support organisational growth and sustainability.
- Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive monitoring and implementation of appropriate controls. Foster a risk management culture ensuring identified risk is managed appropriately in accordance with its risk rating. Monitor for irregularities and risk and provide timely advice to the CEO on matters of concern that could adversely impact the organisation. Ensure finance team staff are appropriately trained and credentialed to facilitate a well-controlled financial environment.
- Manage payroll, accounting, plan management, client management and NDIS billing systems, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to best practices.
- Manage all financial operations pertaining to NDIS services, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Guarantee precise and prompt processing of payroll, payments, invoices, plan management, and claims in alignment with NDIS guidelines and regulations. Verify that NDIS funding corresponding to each participant’s plan is claimed in accordance with the NDIS price guide and internal protocols.
- Supervise a team of Accountants and a Payroll Officer, providing guidance, leadership, support, and mentorship to ensure efficient and effective financial management ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably in a healthcare or disability services setting. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role will be an added advantage.
- Excellent leadership, strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience of working collaboratively and influencing across multiple departments.
- Understanding of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award (SCHADS)
- Experience with NDIS billing and claiming processes.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems such as MYOB AccountRight Essentials, EasyEmployer, Lumary, MYP and Calxa experience
- Advanced level skills in Excel and proficient across a range of MS suite platforms and other reporting systems and tools including advanced skills level in MS Excel with ability to use Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Data tables.
- Ability to analyse financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, friendly environment.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
