The position

The Tasmanian Department of Health has contracted HR+ to rollout the Access 2 Health initiative in the Meander Valley and Northern Midlands. There is also an Access 2 Health project officer in George Town that you will work collaboratively with. The goal of this exciting new position will be to increase access to health services in those communities. 

You will consult with the community in Meander Valley and the Northern Midlands to determine gaps in access to healthcare and to identify health assets.  You will conduct research, community consultations and work in a solution focused manner. You will develop a local improvement plan based on what you discover. 

An understanding of the issues facing primary health, aged care and the NDIS sectors will be highly regarded. And the ability to engage with people from a variety of backgrounds is essential. Health promotion and the delivery of training/ information sessions will also play a key part of your position. This is a part time position, 4 days per week (30 hours).

The organisation

HR+ is a not-for-profit incorporated association contracted by the Australian and Tasmanian governments to recruit and retain general practitioners, nursing and allied health professionals in Tasmania, with an emphasis on rural and remote communities.  Our organisation is one of seven Rural Workforce Agencies funded by the Australian Government nationally.  HR+ also delivers the Health Workforce Scholarship Program and are a registered NDIS provider of Coordination of Supports and Plan Management.

The HR+ main office is in Launceston and the position is based within this office. The office has been fitted out with the latest technology and the greenery is multiplying by the day. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of co-workers and management that would bend over backwards to help you out.
